Diane was an outstanding employee! She worked as a Retail and Social Services Manager for me. She is by far the most dedicated and hard working person I have ever met and on top of that, she is an amazingly caring person. She doesn't stop until the job is done, and always goes above and beyond in whatever task she is assigned. She is intuitive and knows what needs to be done and is very respectful of others in a way that is hard to come by these days. Without reservation, I recommend Diane for any role which she is considered for!

Diane managed a women's clothing and accessories shop in which I was employed for two and a half years. She interviewed and hired me, and was my direct supervisor. In addition to being a retail store, "It's all good" was also a training program for job seekers with disabilities. Diane not only managed the store, but also planned and executed the training program with clients who had a wide range of disabilities. All of this required the time management, organizational and professional skills which Diane possesses. She was able to manage the staff and the client training with patience and encouragement, taking care to often point out areas of skill and improvement. Her interaction with customers was positive and enthusiastic, and she did a very effective job of resolving any problems with a fair and mutually beneficial solution. She consulted with the staff and made them an integral part of the process. Diane's experience, knowledge, and personal qualities of kindness and concern for others make her an ideal candidate for any care giving position. I very much enjoyed working with her and respected her integrity and sense of responsibility. I found her to be trustworthy, to have an infectious sense of humor, and to be a wise and thoughtful decision maker.

Diane was a co-manager with me in a large off-price retail store. During the 3 years we worked together, she consistently displayed high levels of the following qualities: planning, organization, execution, attention to detail and verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, she was always exceptionally personable, compassionate and had the utmost sense of responsibility. Her hands on style and professionalism combined with her "can do" attitude made her an invaluable member of the team.

I would like to thank you for giving our clients the opportunity to experience an actual sample of working in a retail environment, at “It’s All Good” in Somerville. We’ve learned so much on what goes on behind the scenes. Our clients have remarked on how they’ve thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Your patience and kindness encouraged them to have confidence in themselves.
We look forward to continue working with you. Thanks again!

I enjoyed my time at It’s All Good and learned a good deal about the retail industry. It’s All Good and the Retail University was suggested as a source of training with employment as my goal. During the weeks I participated
r and even taught me how to “blog”. I even began my own blog on golf. Each session at It’s All Good instilled in me more confidence and a sense of worth. This is a wonderful program and has given me optimism that I will once again be employed.
I would highly recommend this program to anyone who plans on going back to the workforce. Diane Gerber was very encouraging with me and gave me the confidence I needed to enter the workforce once again.”

Thank you so much for doing what you did when it comes to me hopefully getting a job through DDD, it means a lot to have someone believe in me that much with all the struggles I've been through in life and especially employment. I said this countless times and I've meant every one of them, "You were seriously the best thing that has ever happen to me!!!" Now you see why when I did emails to DVR they had like a million exclamation points.”

My experience with the Retail University program was a memorable one. I was able to learn about the Retail industry and how things worked in retail. I enjoyed my time at Its all good in Somerville. I learned how to approach customers and assist in making their experience at the shop a much more memorable one. I also was taught how to use the cash register to conduct a sale for customers. Restocking the stock was a bonus in this learning experience. I am still in college I am currently attending Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken New Jersey. I would strongly recommend this program to others as it’s a very enjoyable one and its helpful as you learn how to work in a system and to follow and perform tasks in a systematic way.

My son, who is cognitively impaired, was referred to the program administered by alternatives last year. The goal of the assessment was to identify my son’s strengths and provide him with tools that would allow him to successfully perform at a job that matched his ability.
The team that coordinated the evaluation provided access to job duties that were real time experiences; this helped to shape his development plan. The assessment assisted us in placing Andrew in a program that met his needs. Although he is not currently employed the advice and guidance provided by the team was beneficial in identifying gaps in his performance and providing a plan for future success.

“I had a good experience at 'Retail University' in Somerville in 2013. I especially enjoyed helping to set up display table in the store, as it was a great learning experience learning the beginners excel program to make up the flyers for the display.
I learned the significance of keeping the merchandise neat and orderly, as appearance goes a long way in marketing.
I also learned receiving and recovery.
This was a great experience, and I gained a lot from it. I would recommend it to anyone.”
